《达哥打》是一本写给童年的乡愁之书,收录了19篇相关的散文和插画,即是个人情感的切面,也是集体记忆的展现,更是新加坡历史与土地变迁的见证。作者于70年代出生并且成长于达哥打,当这个国民老社区面临拆除与重建之际,希望借文字记录过往生活的点滴,以一种忧郁并且纯真的目光,细腻的回望关于地方和时间的故事。

dakota is a book about childhood nostalgia, which includes 19 prose pieces and illustrations. It is a personal sentimental journey into the past and a collective memory of Singapore’s history. The author was born and grew up in Dakota Crescent in the 1970s. As the once vibrant community has undergone a complete redevelopment, this book hopes to record the many coming-of-age stories with a unique style and take a melancholic glimpse at that place and time.

黄凯德46岁,目前为南洋理工大学中文系兼职讲师,教授现代文学和创意写作课程。毕业自新加坡国立大学中文系,后来获得南大中文系硕士文凭,曾在报馆任职记者长达7年。书写作品涵盖不同文类,经常在本地和外国的报章杂志发表。2015年选为南大中文系驻校作家,现已出版七本著作,包括散文、新诗、小说、文化评论等。

Wong Koi Tet is a part-time lecturer with the NTU Chinese Programme, teaching modern Chinese literature and creative writing. After graduating with a BA in Chinese from NUS and an MA in Chinese from NTU, he worked as a  journalist for 7 years. Wong has published numerous works of different genres in local and overseas newspapers and magazines. In 2015, he was appointed NTU-NAC Writer-in-Residence. He has published seven books of prose, poetry, short stories, and cultural commentaries.

Rongzi is a Singaporean columnist and businesswoman, and one of the pioneers in promoting China-Singapore cultural exchanges. She has held numerous writers’ conferences in Singapore and China. She has produced over 30 publications in her 50-year writing career. In 2010, the Shanghai World Expo invited her to write the preface for the anthology Global Selection of Poems and Writings to commemorate the event. Her seminar, “50 years of Writing, A Retrospective” was held in 2019.

Our City, Our Language: Chronicling Singapore’s Chinese Language Heritage

Our City, Our Language traces the origins and changes of commonly used Chinese terms by the Chinese community in multi-ethnic, multicultural, multilingual Singapore. The book explores the influence of Chinese dialects, Malay, Tamil, and English in shaping the local Chinese vocabulary. It explores the origin of the names of iconic Singapore sites from alternative perspectives. In chronicling the evolution of these phrases and names and the stories behind them, the author seeks to preserve our  Chinese language heritage.

林恩和,1951年生于新加坡,笔名河洛郎。曾任出版社编辑(1976-1978),出版并主编评论杂志《拾穗》(1978-1979)。从事图书零售批发及出版凡40年。文章常见《联合早报》、《怡和世纪》及其他杂志。受邀担任新加坡电视节目“新语研究所”第一系列和第二系列解题嘉宾。目前从事新加坡华语研究,为新加坡文物局的研究项目。出版的著作有《我城我语:新加坡地文志》、《我城故事:重访新加坡历史》。

Lim Earn Hoe, pen name Heluolang, has worked as a bookseller and publisher for 40 years. He served as an editor from 1974 to 1979, including a stint as founding editor of Shisui. He is a frequent contributor to Lianhe Zaobao, Yihe Shiji, and other Chinese periodicals and advisor for FUN with SINGness and SINGness 2. He worked on “Research on Singapore Mandarin Terms” for the Singapore Heritage Board and is author of Stories of My Hometown: Singapore's History Revisited.

《远去的硝烟》以“勿忘历史”为主题,收录前新闻工作者刘培芳在上世纪八九十年代实地采访柬埔寨冲突的特稿,以及她对新加坡社会现象的评论。作者也在书中分享了她当年拍下的珍贵照片。每一章还附上一篇作者新近完成的后记,除了忆述当年采访的心路历程,也对当前的局势和前景表达了她的深切关注与期盼。

The Vanishing Memory

The Vanishing Memory is a collection of articles written by a veteran journalist Low Pooi Fong. Divided into two parts, the first section features the Cambodia conflict in the 1980s and 1990s. Alongside Low’s first-hand experience and interviews with Cambodian people, it features photos from that era. The second section provides an insight on Singapore’s social phenomena.

Mdm Low Pooi Fong worked as a reporter, editor and columnist for major Chinese newspapers Nanyang Siang Pau and Lianhe Zaobao. She was awarded the Golden Lion Literary Award in 1984. She was also a member of the Arts Fund and an Author-in-Residence at Nanyang Technological University and various secondary schools. She is best known for literary works, such as Deep In My Heart and Low Pooi Fong’s Collected Essays.

《中柬风云六十年》

本书是作者根据当年采访的珍贵记录整理而成的回忆录。第一部分《亚细安外交风云》,细述作者如何身负“国民外交”的特殊任务,参与由新加坡主导的亚细安外交斡旋工作。当时,作者在时任新加坡副总理兼管外交的拉惹勒南、外交部长丹那巴南及外交部第一常任秘书纳丹(后来出任第六任总统)的邀请下,敦促当时在泰柬边境领导抗越的柬埔寨民族解放阵线主席宋山(宋双),尽快出山共同完成组织“第三势力联合政府”的工作。作者通过回忆和记录,把历史画面和对话还原。本书第二部《中柬悲欢岁月60年》则呈现作者个人60年来搜集的珍贵资料和新闻观察,忆述作者60年来亲历过的柬埔寨历史大事,并说明历史真相和背景。

The first part, “ASEAN Diplomacy,” details the author’s “citizen diplomacy” and commitment to Singapore-led diplomatic endeavours. The author preserves the historical authenticity of his work through various records, presenting findings and news amassed over six decades in Cambodia. Leveraging his first-hand experience of historical events, he shares insights on Cambodian history with an emphasis on facts and context.

Chin Kah Chong is Singapore’s first war reporter. Before he entered politics, he was one of the first reporters to come into close contact with Lee Kuan Yew and to interview him. Chin worked in journalism for nearly 50 years, shuttling among political arenas. Alongside Singapore’s tumultuous times, he experienced major regional events, including the Vietnam War, the Bandung Conference, Singapore’s separation from Malaya, Singapore’s Independence, the Student Movement, the Hock Lee Bus Riot, and the Race Riots.
