The Book Council organises festivals, workshops and events related to writing, publishing, storytelling, reading and many more. To stay updated, join us on our various platforms. The Singapore Book Council Academy, our training arm, has a comprehensive website for the workshops.
The calendar also lists local literary events that are not organised by us. Know of an event that should be listed here? Let us know!
The Academy runs short courses, workshops and master classes in publishing, writing, reading and storytelling. Our workshops meet the training needs of professionals and the wider public. Our local and international trainers from countries such as the United Kingdom, United States and Australia are established, credible professionals from the literary arts and publishing field.
Bridging Borders: The SEA Lit Project
SBC Campus is the Singapore Book Council's school outreach programme that aims to bring Singapore literature to students and schools.
Open: Singapore Young Writers Lab
All In! Young Writers Festival has been revamped to become Open: Singapore Young Writers Lab, a year-round programme consisting of talks, workshops and mentorships for writers between the ages of 13 and 25.
#BuySingLit is an industry-led movement to celebrate stories from Singapore. Advocating ‘Buy Local, Read Our World’, homegrown book publishers, retailers and literary non-profits have come together to encourage more people to discover and embrace Singapore’s literature. Through buying and reading local works, you support the writers who bear witness to our lives, as well as the businesses in our community that deliver these stories to us. Most of all, you will experience the profound joy of unravelling the multi-faceted world around you.
SBC Read-Along Books
The Singapore Book Council proudly presents the SBC Read-Along Books series, an adaptation of three Singaporean children’s picture books into animated videos in Chinese, Malay and Tamil.
