Singapore has long been known as a melting pot, and a crossroads of Asia. Featuring authors who write in English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil, illustrators of children's picture books and graphic novels, as well as publishers of fiction, poetry, non-fiction and academic books, the Singapore Pavilion at the New Delhi World Book Fair invites you to discover how Singapore's writing and illustration draws upon its multicultural roots to present a distinct Asian voice.

Duelling Illustrators with David Liew and Otto Fong (Reading by Dr Gwee Li Sui)

In Duelling Illustrators, a picture book manuscript is read out scene-by-scene as two illustrators sketch what they envision the scenes to look like. Duelling at the Book Fair are children’s book illustrator David Liew and science-teacher-turned-full-time author and publisher Otto Fong.

BOOK LAUNCH: The Art of Sukumar Bose: Reflections on South & Southeast Asia

To commemorate the centenary of artist Sukumar Bose (1912–1986), this book attempts to take an incisive look at the artist, his works and the context of his art production in South and Southeast Asia. His work demonstrated traces of the Bengal School styles of Abanindranath Tagore and AR Chugtai. Be it figurative, landscape or abstract, Bose’s art synthesized the decorative elements of Indo-Persian miniatures with Chinese and Japanese techniques.

This interactive story-telling workshop is for children, where they contribute towards building a tree-story around a pre-thought-of framework. The workshop helps children look at nature, trees and remember characteristics of trees for life through a story.
