தமிழ் இலக்கியத்தில் இலக்கியத் திறனாய்வின் பங்கு என்ன? குறிப்பாக சிங்கப்பூர் சூழலில் இலக்கியத்தின் வளர்ச்சிக்கு அது எவ்வாறு பங்களிக்கிறது? புகழ்பெற்ற வெளிநாட்டு அறிஞர்கள் ​மூவருடன் கலந்துரையாட வாருங்கள். அவர்கள் ​மூவரும் இவ்வாண்டு சிங்கப்பூர் இலக்கியப் பரிசின் தமிழ்ப் பிரிவுகளுக்கு நடுவர்களாகப் பணியாற்றியவர்கள். 

The novel is a very complex genre. When you master elements in the novel such as themes, plots, characters, backgrounds, point of view, and language styles, you are actually only mastering some of their basic aspects. Creating characters and plot alone is not enough to give meaning to the soul of a novel if you do not include your own thoughts in it. But to incorporate thoughts into the novel requires our own thinking based on our experience, reading and reflection on life.
Join Malaysia’s 10th National Laureate Dr Mohd Anwar Bin Ridhwan as he will take you through the process of creating a novel.
Dr Anwar is one of the judges for the Singapore Literature Prize 2018 Poetry in Malay category.  

Novel merupakan genre yang sangat kompleks. Apabila anda menguasai elemen-elemen yang membina novel seperti tema, plot, watak, latar, sudut pandangan, dan gaya bahasa, anda sebenarnya baharu menguasai sebahagian daripada aspek asasnya. Mewujudkan watak dan peristiwa sahaja belum cukup memberi makna kepada jiwa sebuah novel jika anda tidak menyertakan pemikiran di dalamnya. Tetapi untuk menuangkan pemikiran ke dalam novel memerlukan ‘tahap’ pemikiran yang kita miliki berdasarkan pengalaman, pembacaan serta perenungan kita terhadap kehidupan. Dengan khalayak pembaca kontemporari dan masa depan yang mempunyai latarbelakang budaya serta teknologi yang kompleks, penulis novel memerlukan strategi naratif yang sesuai. Tidak kurang penting, seorang penulis novel harus didampingi oleh editor yang berpengalaman. Akhir sekali novel yang baik harus diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa-bahasa dunia agar pemikiran dan nilai estetikanya dapat dinikmati oleh masyarakat dunia.

Join well-known writer and literary scholar Professor Lee Jui Teng as he discusses how the Internet has unleased a literary revolution to redefine the meaning of writers, books and reading.

Discover  the  history  of  the  Singapore  Literature  Prize.  From  its  inaugural  edition  in  1992,  the  Singapore  Literature  Prize  has  been  awarded  to  over  60  writers  across  three  genres  – poetry,  fiction,  creative  nonfiction – in  four  languages: English,  Chinese,  Malay  and  Tamil.  The  prize  has  also  launched  the  careers  of  many  writers  in  its  26-year  history.  Come  and  celebrate  Singapore’s  literary  legacy  through  the  writers  and  their  works  in  this  exhibition  on  the  history  of  Singapore’s  most  prestigious  literary  prize.
